6-Day Itinerary Overview

Day 1: Tangier to Chefchaouen

Start your tour in Tangier, with easy pickup from either the ferry or airport. Travel through the beautiful Rif Mountains and pass through Tetouan to reach Chefchaouen. Known for its stunning blue-washed streets, Chefchaouen is a must-see in Morocco. Explore the Medina’s narrow lanes, art shops, rooftop cafes, and enjoy a relaxed evening in this charming town.

Day 2: Chefchaouen – Volubilis – Meknes – Fes

After breakfast at your Riad, set off towards Volubilis through scenic Rif towns and beautiful countryside. On arrival at Volubilis, explore the impressive Roman ruins and learn about Morocco’s history during the BC period. Continue to Meknes, a 17th-century city and UNESCO World Heritage site, where you’ll stop for lunch and explore cultural and historical sites like the Moulay Ismail Mausoleum and Bab el Mansour. End the day in Fes for an overnight stay.

Day 3: Fes Sightseeing

Spend the day exploring Fes, the oldest city in Morocco, rich in history and culture. Start with an experienced local guide who will lead you through the winding alleyways of Fes Medina. Begin at the entrance of the Royal Palace, then visit the Jewish Quarter and the first-ever Mellah. Explore the lively lanes and souks of the Medina, soaking in the vibrant atmosphere. Stop for lunch at a local restaurant. Visit the well-known tanneries, Bou Inania Madrasa, and the University of Al-Qarawiyyin, the spiritual and educational heart of Fes since its founding in 857-879. Day 4: Fes – Sahara Desert Merzouga

Start early and leave Fes to journey towards the Sahara Desert. Travel through the Middle Atlas Mountains, stopping at Ifrane, often called the “Switzerland of Morocco,” to enjoy the beautiful scenery and take memorable photos. Continue to Azrou, where you’ll visit the cedar forest to see Barbary Apes. Next, head to Midelt for a lunch break at a local restaurant. In the afternoon, travel to Errachidia, passing through the Tizi N Telghomt Pass at 1,907 meters. Along the way, enjoy spectacular views of the Ziz Gorges and stop to admire the panoramic views of the Ziz Valley. Continue the journey through Aoufous and Erfoud before reaching Merzouga. Day 5: Merzouga – Todgha Gorges – Dades Gorges

Take an off-road route through the palm groves of Skoura, where the Kasbahs blend beautifully into the shade of the palms. Stop in Ouarzazate to take pictures of the famous Kasbah of Taourirt and the cinema studios, which are the city’s main attractions. Continue to Ksar Ait Ben Haddou, a UNESCO World Heritage site and one of the most popular destinations in southern Morocco.
