Day 2 : Full day to Explore Merzouga area
Embark on a 4x4 adventure through Merzouga after breakfast at your accommodation. We'll stop at the Hassi Labied oasis to see its irrigation canal and land cultivation, and then we'll drive south to the seasonal Sriji lake (water permitting). We'll keep on to Khamlia town if you're interested in hearing the Gnawa music of the people of African descent who emigrated to Morocco from slave trade centuries ago. the M'ifis mines will be our next stop. Minerals and fossils have also made the Merzouga desert popular among tourists. We will get the chance to meet a nomadic Berber family in the heart of the Sahara on our 4x4 desert tour of Merzouga. They still live in a tent, and we will be able to have a drink of mint tea while learning about their desert lifestyle. Stopping at multiple panoramic viewpoints will allow us to soak in the beauty and snap some photos...We will return to the village after lunch at a local restaurant. From here, you will embark on a camel trek to our Berber Camp in Merzouga. The trek takes approximately 1 to 1.5 hours. During this time, we will stop on top of the dunes to watch the sunset. If you're interested, you can try sandboarding. Take photos of the breathtaking scenery. After making it to the camp, you may relax with a sip of tea while waiting for supper. After dinner, you can listen to traditional Berber drumming music, gaze at the stars, and then get some sleep beneath a nomadic tent.
The next day, after waking up early to see the sunrise from atop a dune near the camp, we suggest having breakfast and a shower at the camp before continuing your day. Once you've had your fill of these breathtaking sights, you may return to where you began by riding your camel or, if you prefer, by taking a 4WD back. The three-day journey will begin when you meet your driver. On the way from Errachidia to Merzouga, we'll stop at Rissani's weekly market (on Sundays, Tuesdays, or Thursdays, if you happen to be there). Then, we'll continue on to Erfoud, a town well-known for its annual festival of dates and fossils, where you might have the opportunity to tour a mineral factory if you're interested. Afterward, we will go to Errachidia via the town of Aoufous till we reach the picturesque Ziz Valley. Upon arrival, we will pause at the panoramic viewpoint to admire the breathtaking vistas, capture some photographs, and enjoy the scenery. Before we go to Errachidia, where our three-day desert trip will conclude with a drop-off at your accommodation or the airport.
