Itinerary of 8 Days from Marrakech to Sahara Desert

The trip begins when you are picked up from the Marrakech airport by our multilingual driver and taken to your Riad or hotel, where you may rest and refresh before seeing the famous Jemaa el Fna square in the evening. The snake-charmers, storytellers, and dancers will have you on the edge of your seat. Stay at a Medina Riad for the Night.

Today, a private tour of Marrakech's medina will be led by an official guide who will reveal some of the city's secrets, including the famous Koutubia Mosque and the bustling souks. Additionally, nearby attractions such as the Saadian and Bahia Palaces, the Majorelle Gardens, and the Ali Ben Youssef Koranic School will be visited. The day will end with a night's stay at a riad located within the Medina.

Following breakfast, we will embark on an awe-inspiring journey through the High Atlas mountains via the Tizi N'tichka pass, which stands at an altitude of 2,260 meters. Along the way, we will pause to admire the stunning views and visit an argan oil cooperative. In the afternoon, we will have lunch at a nearby restaurant before exploring the UNESCO World Heritage site of Ait Ben Haddou. Later, we will travel to the Dades Valley where we will dine and spend the night in a riad or conventional hotel.

We will proceed with our tour and visit the Todra Gorge, a narrow and colorful canyon that is well-known among outdoor enthusiasts. From there, we will travel through the Ziz Valley and arrive at Erfoud, an oasis town renowned as the gateway to the Sahara desert, and famous for its exceptional fossils. Here, we can visit a local factory that produces decorative items and art pieces made from fossils. We will then continue towards the desert, arriving at a checkpoint where we will leave our vehicle and start a camel ride into the dunes, accompanied by experienced guides. We will eventually reach the Merzouga Desert Camp where we will spend the night in Berbere tents. The evening will be unforgettable as we indulge in a traditional Berbere dinner under a starry sky, accompanied by tribal music around a campfire in the desert.

After having breakfast at the hotel, we will commence our exploratory excursion of the area. We will visit the "Berber communities," which were previously slaves from Sudan, to observe their way of life and listen to their music. The nomad wire houses, where various Berber handicrafts are available at lower prices, may also pique your interest. Later in the afternoon, we will ride camels and venture into the mysterious Erg Chebbi sand sea. For the first night, you have the option to sleep under the stars or in a typical Berber nomad tent, located where we will stay overnight. Dinner and breakfast will be provided.

Our tour to Ouarzazate will commence, passing through Rissani, where we can make a stop to visit its Traditional Souks, known to be the biggest in southern Morocco. This will be after observing the breathtaking sunrise in the desert and having breakfast followed by a refreshing hot shower. We will then proceed through the stunning Draa valley, which is filled with countless palm trees. We will arrive in Ouarzazate in the evening and check into our hotel.

After visiting Taourirte Kasbah in the morning, we will depart from Ouarzazate and cross the High Atlas Mountains, traveling through the high-altitude Tizi N'Tichka pass, which stands at 2,260 meters and offers stunning views of the surrounding valleys. We will continue our journey and arrive in Marrakech.

Today, we’ll take you to the airport and wish you a safe trip back home.
